SERVICES PROVIDED

The Office of Information Services and Technology provides the following services to the Peabody Museum:

Works with all museum departments to assess their information technology needs and plan for future needs

Coordinates the development of databases for the museum, including collections management, financial management, publications, etc.

Coordinates projects and productions that involve the use of information technologies (including digital imaging and multimedia); develops on-line access to information about the Museum and its collections (including worldwide web pages, on-line exhibitions, and on-line access to collections information); maintains resulting products of these projects (e.g., WWW pages)

Coordinates training in and support of the use of information technologies, including general software applications (word processing and spreadsheets), desktop publishing, email and other networking applications, and database management

Manages the Museum's computer facilities and the infrastructure that supports them

Serves as the Information Technology (IT) contact for the Museum and the Department and coordinates related services with FAS Computing

Coordinates all network services for the Museum

Installs and maintains all computer hardware and software for the Museum
