HOLDINGS FROM SOUTH AMERIA
Collections
from South America derive primarily from Peru, and include a range of
periods and materials. There are also small regional collections from
other parts of the continent. Among these holdings are: Inca and Chimu
metalwork; an extensive collec tion of pottery from the Chimu, Nazca and
Moche cultures; archaeological textiles of all periods, especially Paracas;
pottery from Lake Valencia, Venezuela.
