Mr. Secakuku was born in the village of Supawlavi on Second
Mesa, Arizona, to the Snake Clan. His mother is a descendant
of the Snake Clan people from the village of Paaqavi on
Third Mesa. Alph is self-employed as an artist (carver of
katsina dolls, stone sculptor, and painter) and lecturer on
the subject of Hopi tradition and culture.
