Wood

A pestle (approx. 10 cm. length).

Part of a small wooden cup in native "kero" style (approx. 10 cm. tall).

Wooden objects were less common than other materials at the site. They include a large paddle used for preparing chicha (the “paddle” part is broken) which was placed next to the wall of the chapel of the church. Two examples of distinctive, round-ended pestles were recovered from the colonial town. What may be a toy top also was found in the town. Weaving implements also were recovered and include spindles and comb-like devices used to separate the warps of textiles as they are being woven.

A small wooden cross found on the floor on the Unit 1 house.

A large wooden paddle for preparing chicha. The broken paddle blade was originally symmetrical.
