LOCATION Facing Structure B-7, between Stelae 19 and 21.

CONDITION It was discovered lying face up in 1921 by the CIW. The monument is broken into several pieces and has been badly damaged by roots and weathering. A large romon tree was growing at the head of the stela and fell on it in 1974, causing some damage to the upper left-hand portion of the sculpture (the hand of the figure was obliterated, for example).

MATERIAL Poor quality limestone.

SHAPE Long shaft tapering to what probably had been a rounded top.

CARVED AREAS Front carved in relief; as on Stela 13, the sides are canred in a combination of intaglio bars and dots and intaglio rilevato glyphs.

PHOTOGRAPHS von Euw.

DRAWlNGS von Euw; based on field drawings corrected by artificial light.

REMARKS That which is indicated as an altar for this stela may be nothing more than a pile of rubble.
