Alexis Hartford is a third year archaeology PhD candidate at Harvard University. She is currently formulating her dissertation project, which will focus on the ritual and religious practices of the Classic Period in Mesoamerica. Alexis has participated in projects at several Mesoamerican sites, including fieldwork through the Proyecto Arqueológico de Tlajinga Teotihuacán, Teotihuacán, Mexico and a collections management project aimed at re-identifying and re-contextualizing the objects excavated over the past one-hundred years from the Maya site of Copan, Honduras. Alexis did her undergraduate work at University of California, Los Angeles where she majored in Anthropology and minored in Art History.
