The Carnegie Institution of Washington (CIW) photo collection documents the CIW’s archaeological research undertaken in Central America from 1929-1957.

Between 2000 and 2003, the Library Digital Initiative Project at Harvard provided funding to scan more than 40,000 images from the CIW photograph collection. The images may be viewed through Collections Online under "Browse Selection" or through Visual Information Access (VIA) at Harvard.
