Welcome to the Peabody Museum's implementation site for NAGPRA 43 CFR 10.11. This site has been created to help you access information and to facilitate consultation.
To initiate consultation between your tribe, nation, or other tribal group and the Peabody Museum under NAGPRA Final Rule 43 CFR 10.11 – Disposition of Culturally Unidentifiable Native American Human Remains, please fill out and submit the form below. Once we have processed your form, you will receive an email with a unique username and a link to create your password to the Peabody’s online 43 CFR 10.11 Consultation Portal. The Consultation Portal provides information on 43 CFR 10.11 and on specific Peabody Collections of interest to your Tribe, as well as a document upload area and documentation request area to facilitate consultation.
Based on your responses to the form below, within 90 days of submission, the Peabody will also send you an email providing the following information: (1) a list of all Indian tribes and Native Hawaiian organizations that are being, or have been, consulted regarding these particular human remains and associated funerary objects (per 43 CFR 10.11(b)(3)(i)); and (2) a list of any Indian groups that are not federally-recognized and are known to have a relationship of shared group identity with the particular human remains and associated funerary objects (per 43 CFR 10.11(b)(3)(ii)).
